In loving memory of Bluey, we continue to do what he loved most. He has been saving horses, donkeys, mules, and heelers, since 2024.

Every year thousands of horses and donkeys are sold at auctions. Often they end up being bought by slaughter holding facilities. They are kept in inhumane, disease ridden conditions. They are crammed into small pens, not fed properly, mistreated and sold like objects. Sometimes they are shipped for slaughter, and if they are not shipped, many die of disease. Bluey’s Hope 4 Horses exists to save, rehabilitate, and re-home horses from lives of misery in the auction and slaughter pipeline. No one deserves to be in such awful, inhumane conditions. We also find homes for horses whose owners can no longer care for them. With your help, we can save these innocent lives. One horse at a time.

You can change a horse's life forever
Horse slaughter is outlawed in the United States. To get around this, the kill buyers collect American horses from livestock auctions and ship them to Mexico and Canada where it is still legal. They are held in kill pens where even their most basic needs are not met. They are overcrowded to the point where they don’t even have room to walk. Many die of disease and malnutrition. Many babies are born in these awful situations and they don’t even have a chance at life. Your generous donations go straight to rescue more horses from auctions so the kill buyer has less of them to buy. They also provide necessary care for all horses we rescue. We make sure that their immediate needs are always covered, which include their feed, hay, veterinary care, farrier visits, transportation, quarantine, emergency vet bills, etc.

You can give them a second chance at life! Whether you adopt a young horse who is ready for new adventures or one that has been worked tirelessly, abandoned, and in need of a soft landing for the first time. Our goal is to make sure that they go to the right home and never end up in need of rescue again. All of our horses and donkeys deserve a forever home where they are spoiled and showered with love by their own family. If you can’t adopt, you can always sponsor!
Adopt one of Bluey's heelers.
We make sure that each cattle dog in the care of our rescue gets veterinary care, including neuter/spay, core vaccinations, and microchip. We socialize them in a wide variety or ways so that we can give you as much information on your new bestie as we can. We require all adopters to sign a “no sale” adoption agreement. If at any time you are unable to care for one of Bluey’s heelers, we welcome them back into our rescue with open arms for the life of the pet.
