Tater (Sir Tot)- Fostered in Elizabeth City, NC

37 lbs | Neutered male | 1.5 years old

This sweet boy recently returned to rescue after an adoption trial — not because he wasn’t loved (he was!), but because he and the resident older male heeler just couldn’t agree to coexist despite everyone trying their best. Tater would do best with a female companion or a mellow male where he can lead the charge. He is currently living his best life with foster brother Patches and absolutely loves him.Tater is a love bug and one of our most snuggly boys. If you want a heeler who melts into you — he’s your guy.

Beau - Fostered in Newport News, VA

27 lbs | 6 month old heeler mix puppy | Neutered

Meet Beau, brother to Bear, our Texas gentleman who is neutered, UTD on vaccines, and the perfect medium-energy heeler. He’s not super high-drive like some of our other pups, and he has been an absolute dream in foster care. Beau is fully potty trained with zero accidents, great with other dogs, good with kids (a little jumpy, but improving), crate trained, and doing well on the leash with continued practice. He rides nicely in the car, has no health or behavior concerns, and shows no food aggression toward people. Beau is incredibly smart, eager to please, and picks up new things quickly. He loves balls, squeaky toys, sticks, chase, and playing with other dogs. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, gentle heeler who brings joy without overwhelming energy, Beau is your boy. Send us a message to meet him!

Bear - Fostered in Elizabeth City, NC

27 lbs | 6 month old heeler mix puppy | Neutered

Meet Bear, brother to Beau, our 6-month-old Australian cattle dog (blue heeler) mix. If you’re looking for the ultimate Christmas pup this boy might be it. Bear is UTD on shots, neutered, the cuddliest couch-loving baby, dog friendly, kid friendly (big and small, though he does have that fun puppy energy), crate trained, leash trained on prong and martingale, groomer friendly, and already knows sit (selectively), crate, in/out, and leave it. We’re still working on potty training and his hilarious “drive-by snacking,” but considering he arrived at Thanksgiving with zero training, his progress has been amazing—he’s incredibly smart, eager to learn, and getting top-tier dog socialization thanks to Remmy acting as his personal mentor. Bear is being fostered in Elizabeth City, NC, and he’s ready to make someone’s holiday season magical.

Milo is an Australian Shepherd / Border Collie mix. He is being fostered in Phelps, NY, and is searching for a forever home where he can thrive. Loved since he was 8 weeks old, his family is rehoming him due to changes in their home environment. Milo is incredibly smart, affectionate, playful, house-trained, neutered, UTD on vaccines, and knows all basic commands plus fun tricks. He loves cuddles, fetch, and running in the snow. Sloan - Fostered in Bassett, VA

45 lbs | 2 years | Spayed

Sloan has been in the Palm Valley Animal Shelter since April 3rd after arriving pregnant, and heartbreakingly, her entire litter did not survive. Despite everything she’s endured, Sloan remains one of the sweetest, friendliest dogs you’ll ever meet. She loves every person she meets, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and brings a calm, gentle presence wherever she goes. This girl deserves a soft place to land and a home that will finally give her the love she’s always given so freely.

Guardian - Fostered in Camden, NC

50 lbs | 3 years | Neutered

Guardian (now Scout) would thrive in an adult-only home with plenty of space to run or a family committed to multiple daily walks to keep him mentally and physically stimulated. He does best with confident, well-trained resident dogs he can mirror, and he bonds closely to one primary person while still being loving to the whole household. He’s nervous with strangers—especially men—but warms up with positive reinforcement. Guardian is crate and potty trained, responds well to food motivation, and has begun basket muzzle work. Because he can be possessive of personal items like his crate or favorite toys, but not communal resources, he needs a patient, structured home that understands his boundaries and can continue building his confidence.
